RIPSTIK PRO CONCEPT
PRODUCT DESIGN
In 2008, Razor released the first Ripstik Caster Boards, quickly becoming one of the company's most popular toys. After 15 years of production with very few changes to the original design, it was time to refresh the product to better suit the newer generation of kids. The main goal for this product was to improve the existing layout by hitting key project goals:
Enhanced Design: The updated Ripstik features a sleek modern design that keeps the profile of the previous model, and is instantly recognizable as a Ripstik. The new changes include a one piece flexible polymer deck, in molded grip texture, center carry handle, and 43mm caster wheels, which all give the board a modernized look.
Improved Durability: Designed with a reinforced one-piece deck and high-quality materials improves the overall durability. The upgraded 43mm caster wheels ensure a smooth and reliable ride.
Simplified Manufacturing: Replacing the three-piece rotation design on the last generation of Ripstik, simplified the manufacturing and production significantly. This reduced production cost but also resulted in a Ripstik that meet Razor's high standards of quality and performance.
Perfect for All Skill Levels: Whether a beginner looking to get started or an experienced rider seeking to elevate their skills, we wanted the new Ripstik to be perfect for all skill levels. It's user-friendly design makes it accessible to newcomers, while its advanced features provide the performance that seasoned riders look for.
